S Venkatesan, MP writes to FM regarding Separate Toilet for women

Another step has been taken towards realization of exclusive toilets for women bank employees, women customers and  to women connected with the office in all  bank  branches of public,  private, co-operative sector banks,  foreign banks, DFIs,  Payment  and  Small  Finance banks.

Bank Workers’ Unity through the article by N.Rajagopal in the issue dated Jan 15, 2022, has highlighted the steps taken by organizations in the banking industry for provision of exclusive toilet for women.

In this regard S.Venkatesan, CPI (M) party MP from Tamilnadu, has drawn the attention of the Finance Minister, Government of India through his letter dated 25th January 2022 .  In his letter he has  requested the Finance Minister to instruct all the banks – Public  Sector, private sector, co-operative sector banks, foreign banks, DFIs,  Payment  and  Small  Finance banks –  to provide separate  toilets for women  employees, women customers and  to women connected with the office in all  bank  branches and offices throughout the country. S. Venkatesan’s letter has been duly acknowledged by the FM on 7th February 2022.
