Indian Bank (Odisha) agreed to resolve issues – Strike on 7th March deferred

S.Harirao

It was reported in the BWU issue of 26th February 2022 that Indian Bank Employees’ Union-Odisha (BEFI) had given a strike call on 7th March against large scale closure of branches and on other issues which include new transfer and promotion policy for award staff pending for 2 years, uniform policy for special allowance carrying posts, regularization of temporary employees as per CGIT award and payment of bonus to them. Discussions were held between the Bank Management and the Union before Regional Labour Commissioner-Bhubaneshwar on 1st March and on 4th March. It was agreed upon before the RLC that until new transfer policy is formulated the present policy in Indian Bank would prevail. The Management agreed to resolve the remaining issues through mutual discussions and therefore the Strike call on 7th March was deferred.

  1. It is good that the readers are kept informed of the latest developments in an issue which was carried in its earlier issue. The author had stated that the strike call has been deferred due to some understanding in tripartite agreement. The Union has an obligation to ensure the implementation of the agreement.

  2. போராட்ட வெற்றிக்கு வாழ்த்துக்கள் 💐
